I am no “foodie”…all I know  is we spent everyday in Aspen playing at anywhere between 8,000 and 12,000 feet, and we were HUNGRY! By playing I mean, biking, running, hiking, (sometimes falling), swimming, suffering, exploring, and what ever else you can think of in the heart of Colorado!

So we were always ready to indulge, to say the least…

Its no secret Aspen is a culinary paradise! It’s home to the Annual Food and Wine Classic, THE premier food and wine show casing held every year here.  We had just missed it at the time of our stay…will just have to go back! 🙂

In between, cycling, and strolling downtown, I captured a couple fun shots of our quick bites we found here and there.  And there were a lot of them…

But than there were actual restaurants, which we took full of advantage of.  Downtown Aspen is obviously full of unique and yummy looking cafes and restaurants.  But up in Snomwass, a kind of suburb of Aspen, there are some wonderful options as well, most offering amazing views of the Rockies, as Snowmass sits right on the side of a mountain at a high elevation!

Venga Venga Cantina and Tequila Bar is one of our all time faves, we never miss it on our trip to Snowmass…seriously it is a must visit!

Check out this view. Each table on the patio comes with its own fire pit! I love this shot of us.

After eating at Venga Venga, on Thursday nights in the little Village of Snowmass, everyone gathers for an outdoor concert on the hill over looking the mountains.  We walked right over to enjoy this unique event.

How pretty.

A bit of a stormy night, never the less, what a cool place for a concert.

Our last stop on what has turned into a food tour of Aspen, Colorado, takes us to The Artisan Restaurant at the Stonebridge Inn.  Creative American food with another amazing view…we were also quite hungry during our visit to this eatery.  🙂

I loved these. I believe they were Gluten Free Tacos.

Appetizers...

Appetizers…

As this was predominantly a biking training, all around “active” trip to the mountains, food might of always been on our minds.  What an amazing place to work up an appetite!
