Chicago has a huge fitness community! That is kind of an understatement, its home to The Chicago Marathon, (one of the world marathon majors), and has also been rated in the top 10 cities for triathlon, not to mention its one of the cleanest major cities in the United States, possibly to world. Chicago is always a fun city to visit! And I wanted to share some beautiful spots to run!
Chicago Lake Front Trail (LFT) Lake Shore Drive / Lake Shore Trail –
I believe this is probably the number one place to run or cycle or walk in Chicago. Its 18 miles of trail right on the coast of Lake Michigan. Catch beautiful sunrises here, and enjoy the energy. No matter what time of year, there are always people out running or walking and it can certainly make a morning!
It is hard to not be motivated surrounded by so many active people! “Run-sporing” is a blast, and something to look forward to when visiting new cities. Nothing like exploring on your own two feet! 🙂 Somedays we are left to hotel treadmills with no air conditioning.
